United Lutheran Church Members at Work
"How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help." 1 John 3: 17
Opportunities abound for reaching out!
Adult missions
Pastor Beth and 8 adults from United Lutheran returned on March 10 from their mission trip to LaGrange, Texas. While there they participated in recovery efforts on several homes that had suffered damage during Hurricane Harvey. The team will be shared their experiences and pictures on Sunday, April 8 during worship service at ULC. Check out some pictures and discussion at "Conversations."
love packages
The Love Packages Ministry is doing well. Thank you to all who have brought in new and used materials. These items are sent to Butler, Illinois from where it is sent on to the following countries Uganda, Thailand, Tanzania, South Africa, Liberia, Kenya, Jamaica, India, Ghana & Bahamas. It is exciting to know that what we send adds to many tons of material that is sent to areas in the world in need of the Word of God.
Needed materials: Bibles (new or used), Tracts, reference books & commentaries, all Christian books & paperbacks, magazines, Sunday School supplies, daily devotionals, CD’s, DVD’s, BlueRay’s, puppets, Noah’s Ark, Bible games, nativity sets, and biblical puzzles. Thank you to all who donate.
GF Mission Help
Five ULC members recently traveled to the Northland Mission in Grand Forks where they made sandwiches and packed lunches for residents, sorted fruit and prepared produce.
The Mission affords an opportunity for mentors, confirmation students or individuals and families to volunteer together. This is a very appreciated ministry and anyone interested in volunteering would be helpful. We have previously done this in October. If this or some other time would work for you and you are interested, please contact Pat Davidson.
